Hello and welcome to my blog, Back Talk! My name is Kyarra and I’m a journalist based out of California. I created this blog to share my ideas and experiences outside of my everyday work. While I love hitting the pavement for hard news stories on city government, crime, and community events, I don’t often get a chance to expound upon my stories. Also let’s face it, in this industry a lot of your words do not end up in the published product. This is where Back Talk comes in.
I’m a military brat, who has lived all over the country and even spent a couple of years in Japan. I am passionate about care for veterans, politics, and social justice issues like race and income inequality.
Despite my career, I fall on the introverted side of the spectrum, as do my hobbies. I love good books, knitting, and video games. I’m also a big fan of binge-watching television shows.
